Serapian Boutique Rome

A Secret Garden in the eternal city

Serapian unveils its latest boutique, an immersive space in the Eternal City, steps away from Piazza di Spagna. Located on Via Del Babuino 121, one of Rome’s most illustrious streets, the store is a celebration of the finest Italian Mestieri D'Arte and Milanese excellence.

The store brings Serapian’s elevated, quintessentially Milanese experience to the Italian capital, inviting guests and clients to discover the best high craftsmanship and design in a space that reflects its heritage and contemporary approach to creation.

Each Serapian location reflects the heritage of the Maison, at the same time connecting with its location through unique design elements. In Rome, Serapian presents a secret garden inspired by Piero Portaluppi, an architect that is close to the soul of the company as the mind behind its Villa Mozart headquarter.

Portaluppi’s own Casa Degli Atellani is the inspiration behind this new Roman interior: the store features hand-painted walls by Pictalab, characterised by a botanical motif inspired by his historical private residence. This element also connects Serapian with the city of Rome, referencing Villa Medici, whose Stanza Degli Uccelli features a spectacular ceiling characterised by painted birds and vegetation.
Guests enter through a door whose bespoke handle alludes to founder Stefano Serapian, its double-S shape an immediate connection to the company’s heritage as a replica of the 1940s logo. Once inside, the eye is instantly led to a panel showcasing a multi-hued leather mosaic, offering a panorama of the richness of Serapian’s colour and leather possibilities.

The furniture nods to the company’s heritage, with Catilina chairs by Luigi Caccia Dominioni for Azucena upholstered in Serapian Mosaico, and carpets in Maria Theresa Yellow, a recurring shade of Milanese buildings and a colour close to the company’s heart. The space is completed with a coffee table by Doppia Firma and ceramic objects by long-time Serapian collaborator Milesi.
The windows facing Via Del Babuino feature an installation by Venetian artist Lorenzo Vitturi, a collaborator of Serapian who created unique installations for this project.

At this Serapian location, guests will find both the company’s Mestieri D'Arte collection as well as its Bespoke offering, with the option of ordering a unique Serapian piece choosing from over 50 shades of nappa leather.
